The children have been interested in the sunlight that beams into our window when our lights are dim. Some students were building in the block area when they discovered shadows were being created as they built their structures in the sunlight. We took this discovery a step further and did research on the computer about light and shadows. We discovered that shadows could be formed anywhere. Since we first discovered shadow making on the inside of the building, we decided to see if we could create shadows outside in direct sunlight. Each student gathered their building materials and we went outside to see what would come of building outside. The students were amazed about the shadows that were created and the structures that were built.
