This week at the SMCC IMA classroom we have enjoyed exploring boat-making. The children were inspired to build boats after seeing the sensory table filled with water and floating petals and leaves earlier this week. After a full day's worth of work designing and constructing our boats, we were finally ready to launch them yesterday morning. Using official launching "poles," the children were able to narrowly avoid such boating hazards as fountain streams, crashes, and getting lost out at "sea." While some boats proved more seaworthy than others, all sea captains agreed that it was a day well spent.
